Friday 11th December
Finished my last night shift at my current hospital before moving to live in Suffolk full time in January and working for the local NHS. Met with Cllr John Klashka in Kesgrave to discuss supporting new and developing communities and stopping the Labour cutbacks at Ipswich Hospital.
Saturday 12th December
Spent the morning meeting people who attended Sir Michael Lord?s surgery in Earl Soham and discussed issues which varied from supporting new home buyers struggling to get mortgages in the recession to farming subsidies after 2013.
Visited Cllr Colin Walker (Cllr for Framlingham) to discuss problems with the new GP out of hours contract to be adopted in 2010 by the PCT. Followed by a meeting with residents in Cretingham to discuss issues surrounding supporting rural communities.
Senior Citizen's Christmas Lunch
Dan joined Kesgrave's senior citizens at the Bell Inn.

Second Stop Shop
Dan toured the Second Stop Shop with District Councillor Sally Ogden who manages the enterprise which regularly raises money for
charity.

Kesgrave Community Centre
Dan toured the Centre, the major provider of sport and recreational facilities in the town with General Manager Alan Smith and Operations Manager, Mary Bradley.

Sir Michael Lord, the Member of Parliament for Central Suffolk & North Ipswich, has announced that he will be retiring at the next General Election. Sir Michael has been a Member of Parliament for Suffolk since 1983 and is currently a Deputy Speaker in the House of Commons, a position he has held since 1997.
He won the newly formed Central Suffolk constituency in 1983 and following boundary changes, was elected to the new constituency of Central Suffolk & North Ipswich in 1997. At the 2005 General Election he had a majority of 7,856.
Sir Michael says, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Member of Parliament and considered it a huge privilege and honour to have
served the people in Suffolk. I will be sad to retire but feel that now is the right time to make the announcement to allow my
successor to be selected and become known to the constituents of Central Suffolk & North Ipswich.
When I leave the House of Commons I will particularly miss my constituency work which I have always found extremely rewarding and
which has enabled me to help thousands of my constituents over the years.
Finally, I would like to offer my sincere thanks and gratitude to my Conservative Association, Officers, Staff and members who have
supported me so steadfastly throughout my years as their Member of Parliament.”
