Bill Please

Conservatives have launched a new campaign and website, "Can I have the Bill please?", calling for the Government to introduce a Climate Change Bill in the next Queen's Speech. The proposed bill has the support of a range of groups including Friends of the Earth and the Women's Institute, who are also campaigning strongly on this important issue.

The purpose of the Climate Change Bill, published in full on the website, is to set the UK on a path to a 60% reduction in carbon emissions by the year 2050 – as recommended by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Crucially, it is also designed to "enable policy to be informed by, and adjusted according to, the latest authoritative, independent, scientific evidence."

However, the proposed Climate Change Bill needs your support - so make sure your voice is heard on this important issue.
